Updated for Harrowstorm.
This build is reliable for both solo and group content. To describe it I used my setup optimized for veteran Maelstrom Arena but I added notes how to alter the setup for any solo or group content. With the small adjustments it is great for group dungeons.
Disclaimer... (click to expand)My builds are not focused on the highest DPS. They are meant to be viable in any solo and group content using the sets I picked up during playing ESO and combine them with any buyable/craftable sets.
This build is crafted by me but I used other other build craftier as an inspiration, typically Alcast or Hack the Minotaur who both do great job for the community. I always adjust the skills to my play style which might differ to others.

Thoughts over the build
Equipment
The build is focused on damage over time (DoT), critical strikes and its triggers. I chose Tzogvin for many reasons – not only it is great set in common but it allows us not to use Trap from Fighters Guild skill line and to have quite versatile skill bar for change in different situations or play styles.
With high critical chance from Tzogvin the Briarheart set is pretty good choice. If triggers quickly and it adds up to our healing. And with Harrowstorm changes it heals A LOT! Be sure you have this on your front bar with Biting Jabs, it is better to trigger Briarheart there when all your DoT is applied.
The final thought – we try to use as much DoT as possible to maximize critical damage rate and make both Tzogvin and Briarheart to trigger almost instantly. Also then Briarheart is up we get huge healing per second.
As we are using so many DoTs I’ve decided to add Kra’gh‘s monster set although it does not help to trigger our main sets (it never crits) it adds penetration and synergies with Thaumaturge in champion system tree.
I have Maelstrom bow available but I think Briarheart bow would do the work. Just be sure it is infused and with Weapon Damage Enchantment.
The build would work great with dual wield but for solo content I chose the two handed weapon, specifically for great-axe as its bleeding as it adds even more DoTs and can be triggered by Biting Jabs which is our main spammable. For dual wield I would prefer daggers or dagger+axe.
Food
This build runs perfectly with blue health+stamina food but in longer boss fights it may require some heavy attacks.
Mundus stone
I use The Shadow for mundus stone (increases Critical Strike damage by 9 % (13% with 7 legendary Divine traits) for maximizing the critical damage.
Alchemy
As this build has already Major Brutality (Rally) and Major Savagery (Bitting Jabs) implemented I advice to use any potions that restores Health and Stamina. For my the Essence of Immovability does the best job.
The poisons are optional, I use the Crown Lethal Poisons because I’ve got lots of them from daily rewards. But you can craft similar and even stronger ones yourself.

Skill bars with alternatives
Bow bar
- Endless Hail/Arrow Barrage (the rotation is slow, so I prefer the first morph)
- Poison Injection (flexible slot, either Venom Arrow for interrupting or Soul Trap for another DoT)
- Razor Caltrops (removable for group play, it is here to slow down enemies and Major Fracture)
- Vigor (any morph)
- Extended Ritual (removable for group play, replaceable with Restoring Focus for example)
- ULTI: Empowering Sweep
2h bar
- Power of the Light
- Biting Jabs
- Silver Leash (great in vMA, replaceable with Evil Hunter or so for Fighter Guild Passives)
- Rally (or Executioner/Reverse/Slice – I prefer rally as it allow me run tri-pots or in my case immovable potions)
- Repentance (lets you go with low stam regen)
- ULTI: Flawless Dawnbreaker (or Empowering Sweep again)
I am not good rotation adviser – just apply DoT on cooldown (I have Elndless Hail as the leading skill) and spam Biting Jabs. Use Repentance and Empowered Sweep whenever possible.
